Purpose of the role:
The Content Team is a part of the Creative Hub which sits within the wider Brand Team. Working closely with creative specialists in copywriting, propositions and design, we provide creative solutions that deliver on organisation objectives. Specifically, we create video, photography and written content that tells the story of Battersea’s work within and beyond our gates, in the UK, and internationally.

The Content Production and Administration Volunteer will support the work of the Content Team who tells engaging stories about Battersea’s work. Specifically, they will play a supporting role in photographing, organising, and sharing content assets with the wider organisation to help achieve organisational objectives.

What would I be doing?
The Content Production and Administration Volunteer will support varied aspects of the work of the Content Team, including:
- Filing and organising photography and video assets produced by the team, following our naming conventions.
- Supporting in capturing case study photography of the dogs and cats in our care, across our three sites in London, Old Windsor and Brands Hatch (Kent).
- Help with administrative duties when, and if, required. This could include updating our supplier database, drafting blog posts for our “Pawtal” intranet, and generating reports.

What skills would be useful?
- Good organisation and communication skills, have a pro-active and professional approach, and work effectively within a team and with internal stakeholders.
- Any experience in working with content management systems (e.g. SharePoint; Bynder or other image libraries). Training will be provided.
- Be able to demonstrate a good standard of written communication and a good level of IT literacy, particularly in Office 365 products including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail and good time management.
- Ability to work on your own and using initiative to solve problems is beneficial (alongside the support of the Volunteer Mentor).

What skills will I gain?
- Experience working in a busy, friendly office.
- Experience working in an animal welfare organisation / large charity.
- Development of administrative skills.
- Introduction to the processes of content creation and production

Where and when would I be volunteering?
At our London centre, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, SW8 4AA.

We would like a minimum of 1 day a week; could be any weekday (preferably between Tuesdays – Thursdays).

Normal working hours are 10am – 4pm.

This volunteer position will start on a 6-month trial, with the possibility of it becoming an ongoing volunteer role after since this is a new volunteer position.
